Spike in Covid-19 cases not affecting car sales

PETALING JAYA: The current Covid-19 situation is not affecting car sales, thanks to the government’s sales tax holiday which ends on Dec 31. Many car companies are also throwing in rebates and discounts on top of the tax holiday introduced by the government to stimulate the local automobile industry.

Nurul Shazwani Suhaimi, 24, said she bought a new car after finding out about the sales tax exemption.

“I was planning to buy my first car next year as I just started working early this year. I have been saving up for the down payment.

“However, I realised that I needed a car urgently due to the nature of my work.

“I went to a showroom in August with my parents and found out there was a tax holiday and I saved up to RM2,000, ” said the content reviewer who chose a Perodua Myvi 1.5 Advance.

“All my son wanted for his birthday was to see a Lamborghini,” Heather said. “Never in a million years could I have imagined this.

“I’m so grateful and humble and blessed for the kindness. I’m so overwhelmed.”

After a week of social media sleuthing, hitting the pavement and several phone calls, Heather Campbell connected with Lamborghini owners Tanya Chavez and Jeff Mayeri of south Naperville and got leads on a few other owners of the Italian sports car.

“The best part of owning the car — even more than just driving it — is the smile this car

That’s a simple question with a complicated answer. No, there wasn’t a factory Dodge Viper convertible in 2014. However, where there’s a will, there’s a way. If you have enough money and know the right people, anything is possible.

The right people, in this case, are Prefix Detroit. Back in 2014, they built a grand total of ten Dodge

Lewis Hamilton Ties Michael Schumacher’s Wins Record in Germany

NÜRBURG, Germany (AP) — Even Lewis Hamilton once saw Michael Schumacher’s record of 91 wins as unbeatable. Now he’s matched it.

Schumacher’s son, Mick, presented Hamilton with one of his father’s old helmets after the British driver took a record-tying 91st win at the Eifel Grand Prix.

“Seeing his dominance, I don’t think anyone, and especially me, didn’t imagine that I’d be anywhere near Michael in terms of records so it’s an incredible honor and it’s going to take some time to get used to,” Hamilton said, adding that he used to choose Schumacher as his character when playing a video game.

Schumacher has required constant care since he sustained severe head injuries in an accident while skiing in 2013.

Hamilton took a big step closer to matching Schumacher’s record of seven titles, too, after his teammate Valtteri Bottas failed to finish with an engine problem. Hamilton now leads the

Trump’s offshore oil ban in SC also covers wind farms, feds say | News

Oil and gas drilling wasn’t the only thing halted by President Donald Trump’s recent order covering offshore South Carolina.

It also blocked the expansion of wind farm technology, which came as a surprise to state and coastal leaders.

“I think almost no one was expecting that it would affect offshore wind,” said Chris Carnevale of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy.

It’s a blow to a nascent industry in South Carolina, where some areas offshore of the northern half of the state have been flagged for future wind farms, though the government hasn’t started leasing waters yet.

“Oh, well that’s disappointing,” North Myrtle Beach Mayor Marilyn Hatley said upon hearing wind was included in the presidential order.

The beach town was opposed to fossil fuel extraction but passed a resolution years ago supporting wind technology and has two experimental turbines on land that power electric car charging stations.

“We thought

The RBW Classic Roadster Is An Electric MGB With A Six-Figure Price Tag

British EV specialist RBW has been in the business of converting classic cars to run electric powertrains for a while now, but has recently leapt into bespoke automaking by announcing the MGB-inspired RBW Electric Classic Roadster. Just note that this electric sports car is a far cry from MG’s original affordable classic–it’s an extremely luxurious option, costing five times what an original Roadster would now but with a lot of modern technology.

Now owned by China’s SAIC, MG itself has been making relatively affordable, modern EVs for a while now, but it never got as far as revisiting the classic roadster, a 1960s icon that was immensely popular on both sides of the Atlantic.

The good news is this MGB can roll up to the Goodwood Revival in a more sustainable way (ecologically, albeit not financially) without any old chassis even having to get gutted.
