Broadhurst Grove village green sold again at auction

A PIECE of land in Lychpit has been sold at auction again, despite a council order that says it should be handed over to the authority.

As previously reported, residents in Broadhurst Grove and Saxon Way have been campaigning to save their ‘village green’ after it was put up for auction by the developers of the estate.

It was due to be handed over to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council 40 years ago when the estate was finished, but never was.

During lockdown, residents were given a shock when at least 73 cars passed through to view the piece of land.

And despite BDBC issuing a section 52 agreement, which would see the owner of the land hand it over to them for just £1, The Gazette has been told that it was auctioned off again last month.

After bumping into the purchasers shortly after the auction on September 9,

The coronavirus pandemic has left the U.S. auto industry mired in crisis. U.S. vehicle sales took a nasty hit during the first and second quarters of 2020 due to sagging showroom traffic and sluggish demand for cars amid coronavirus-led restrictions, along with uncertainty in economic environment.

However, with COVID restrictions easing and people getting used to a new normal, it seems that vehicle sales are gradually on the mend. At least, that is what third-quarter sales numbers of various auto biggies reflect. While sales of most firms declined year over year, the metric improved from the prior quarter. Importantly, the recovery gained traction especially in September, as sales rebounded from coronavirus-led lows and even grew year over year. Sales growth in September marked the first monthly rise since February. Let’s delve deeper to find out what all worked in favour of the U.S. auto sector during third-quarter 2020.

Biden Kicks Off Presidential Campaing in Philadelphia

In response, President Trump pounced on what appeared to be an opportunity to underscore that point to Biden’s base, saying, “That’s a big statement… you just lost the radical left.”

But this was not actually a new position for Biden. Instead, he explained, “I support the Biden plan that I put forward” — a $2 trillion proposal that is more narrow and less aggressive than the far-reaching Green New Deal.
