TUSCALOOSA, AL. — The Tuscaloosa Police Department says more than 20 victims reported auto burglaries at multiple hotels around the city over the weekend.
TPD confirmed to Patch that it began receiving calls Sunday morning from victims claiming their vehicles had been broken into while in hotel parking lots. Instances of auto burglary were reported at Hotel Indigo on Greensboro Avenue, Comfort Inn on Jack Warner Parkway, Microtel Inn on Veterans Memorial Parkway and Hampton Inn on Harper Lee Drive.
Investigators said the burglaries, which involved windows busted out of many of the vehicles, either occurred Saturday night or early into the morning hours Sunday. It is also believed the same person or group of people is responsible.
Items were reportedly stolen from some of the vehicles, while others were rummaged through, with nothing taken.
